printing posters for people to take. I’ve had this idea for a while, and it makes me a bit sad that someone has already done it. This will motivate me to do it myself, perhaps I will print all of the posters over the summer, then slowly put them up around the school

Kevin, Ireland, and Pervy Old Dudes
Kevin made it into London this past Saturday! Hooray! I went and picked him up from Heathrow with no problem and brought him and his stuff to my room so he could sleep while I went and finished what was left of my Silversmithing shortcourse!
Early sunday we hopped a plane to Dublin, and when we arrived it was beautiful! The sun was shining, and the weather was warm (San Diego weather!). The...

Yesterday I bought cereal as I had run out, and today I bought milk. Just realized that I hadn’t eaten a proper breakfast for the last week. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still eat, but it’d be digestives (strangely yummy) or a crossant at a convenience store.
This also helped me realize something else: I completely devoted myself to creating artwork through my time at...
My semester abroad is officially OVER!!!
I can’t believe it! It seems like it’s been so long and so short all at the same time.
These past few days, I’ve been preparing and practicing for my final presentation (and sacrificing sleep). Its paid off, big time.
The day before my presentation, I furiously printed the last of the posters for my portfolio (this poster was a small, 1 color poster done in the style of wild...
final crit = amazing. I will have to write a full report on it ASAP. but for now, just know that I may get high marks. ridiculously high marks. Which is unheard of in the UK. EXCITED!!!
I’m currently preparing for my final presentation (at 3:40). GUNNA BE GOOD!!!)

Cooking for home
So I’m already planning what I’m going to be doing once I get home. Mainly a) spending time with the family, b) getting a job/internship, and c) cooking!
The community we live in has been so gracious and supportive in many ways since september, one of which setting up a meal calendar where different families would make Demi, Seth and myself dinner every other day. AMAZING! ...

I kinda want to do the San Diego Fiesta Metric 20 mile bike ride. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Update!
Dad recently told me that I haven’t really updated my blog with anything pertaining to the UK. This is for several reasons:
1) hell week starts on monday (week before finals)
2) I’ve been screen printing posters non stop. When I’m not screen printing, I’m probably sleeping or working on something else
3) the digital camera has stopped functioning. It will only allow...
there are no printed instruction manuals for the printing press (letterpress). Ironic?

While walking back from dinner, I discovered that one of the fields within the immediate vicinity of my school was a Black Plague burial ground from 1665-1666. I will upload a picture when I manage to snag one. How’s THAT for some european context?!
A laser system is used to determine if someone is walking towards the escalator. When the laser is broken, the escalator turns on.
greetings from Hamburg!
Hi hello internet! I am writing you from my wonderful hotel room in Germany! The hotel is super nice and awesome, I don’t think we could have picked a better spot. The hotel Smolka is located within a nice residential area, and public transit is just around the corner! We came to the hotel 3 hours before normal check-in time, but within 20 minutes they had it ready for us. Before we...
going to ireland!!!
Kevin and I just booked flights and hotel for a visit to ireland! Aieeee! Flights were £30 per person, and we’re staying in a swanky hotel. Super awesome! I’ve never been to Dublin before, so I’m really looking forward to it : )
This weekend!
Everything’s been great… visited the Tate Modern with Diana yesterday, and afterwards we ate A REAL MEAL! So exciting! We went to a sit-down restaraunt and ordered steak and fries and I got a glass of wine. So good!
Went out last night to a monthly event called Scared to Dance (on Kevin’s suggestion), where they play popular indie music over the last 30 years. It was a lot...

just booked a stay in a 4 star hotel in a really nice residential neighborhood in Hamburg (close to city center). The hotel had a deal where if you booked 2 nights, the 3rd was free! Heck yes!
Right now, the grand total for the trip is 95 pounds. That’s roundtrip airfare, and a swaky hotel stay. SOOO EXCITED!!! Diana (the friend I’m traveling with) and I are thinking about...
Guten Tag!
Yesterday, I was reading through a yahoo article on how to save money. One of the tips was a website that compiles flight prices from a ton of different websites to get you the cheapest price. I plugged in London, and a bunch of other destinations I wanted to visit. A lot of them were in the 100 pound range, so I tried something a bit more local: Glasgow, Scotland.
I last visited Glasgow with...
British girls in bars are always angry.
(example of british girls)
Two weekends in a row now that I’ve been confronted/yelled at/challenged to a fight by british girls in pubs. Why are you so angry, british girls?
Last week, a few friends and I went to several bars to try out the local scene (especially since we were all new to the area). At the last bar, it was very crowded and hard to move around, so by the time we were...
near-end of week 2
Goodness me, today was a doozy (in comparison to the rest of my week). Here in Britainia art school, you attend class as much (or not as much) as you like. I have only 2 days of mandatory class, and one of those days is only for an hour. YEAH!
However, there are optional lectures, classes, and tutorials students can sign up for. I’ve been signing up for anything that seems interesting,...

Moose, one of the most vocal puppies in Hoxton, is easy to find. His owners often goes into local grocery stores to stock up on necessities, and Moose gets tied up outside. He cries and barks, while waiting for their return. So comitted/annoying/cute!
Classes have been going really well… my first assignment is to create a new written language and to transcribe something. AWESOME!
We had to do a mini-example of our project in class to prove to the tutor (professor) that we understood the assignment. She loved mine, and said that it was the most true to the rules of the prompt. Hooray!
I love art school, because they don’t...

Oh man.
So yesterday, I get my suitcase! Yay! And got to hang out with my family friend, which was really nice. Seeing a familiar face was really comforting, which took me by surprise, as I’ve felt that I’ve been fairly well adjusted thus far. Nevertheless, hanging out with her was a blast.
She said that she hasn’t taken the tube since she was 16 (she’s been to london...

monday and tuesday activities
Things have been going well in London town. I’ve been making friends with other study abroad students, and we’ve all been sightseeing around town (though not at the typical touristy spots). Yesterday my friends and I went to Topshop to buy some warm clothes. Found a wool cardigan and some thermal leggings. Hooray!
Today I slept in (after talking to Kevin from 5-7 AM) until noon,...
